Last winter I swore I would never complain about the heat in summer again.  I TAKE IT BACK!  This has been one of the hottest summers on record and I've been sweltering in the hot studio.  I finally decided I would work until it hit 100 degrees, then the torch would be turned off (YES - I have air conditioning in my studio; it just can't keep up with the kiln and torch).   Normally here in the midwest we might see 1 or 2 days over 100; this year we've had almost 2 weeks; and continue with a…

It's funny how life seems to make full circles sometimes.  My past life was software support and a website developer.  I then became a full-time glass artisan and decided to use the Etsy platform to promote my glass flowers, which has worked great, by the way.  After realizing that I was "giving" Etsy anywhere from $350-$500/month in fees, it was time to reconsider how "great" they were/are.
